Moist to dry soils. Full sun to part shade. Flood tolerant. Vigorous climbing vine with forked tendrils. Found along river banks, wooded bottomlands, wet ravines and rich woods. Fruits ripe September to November. Excellent wildlife value. Edible fruit.
