Full sun or shade. Flood tolerant. Dense twining vine which quickly covers shrubs or fences with maple-like leaves. Found in woods, thickets, and stream banks. Roots medicinal. Clusters of dark blue crescent-shaped fruit. High wildlife value. Yellow fall color. Fruit is very poisonous.
