Deciduous shrub : Ht. 3-6' W 3-6'.

Prefers loam soils. A very shade tolerant shrub common in northern deciduous or mixed woods, & Sugar Maple woods; infrequent southward in the Mississippi River Valley. Very difficult to propagate.
